English Studies 12 at Navigate seeks to help students develop the literacy skills necessary to succeed in the modern world. The course will delve into a variety of forms of literature including short stories, novels, plays and poetry. As they work through the course material, students will be asked to demonstrate their literacy skills through a number of methods including creative writing, indigenous peoples studies, literary analysis, oratory presentations, inquiry learning, and visual creations.

Module 4: Indigenous Novel Study:
Part A: Plot, Character, Setting
Part B: Symbol, Theme, Essay Response
Student Choice Module: 5-7 (Choose 1):
Module 5: Creating a Podcast
Module 6: Creative and Critical Reading and Writing
Module 7: Poetry
Final Exam: (worth 15% of final grade)

*The final exam must be written in person with an approved supervisor.
