Psychology 12 

Why do people think, feel, and behave the way they do? 

Psychology 12 explores the science of human behaviour, thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Through six engaging units, students examine their own identity, discover what motivates behaviour, investigate personality and mental health, and explore how social influences shape who we become. The course combines psychological theory with real-world applications, encouraging students to connect psychological concepts to everyday life 

Course Units 

Unit 1: Psychology and Personal Identity

Unit 2: Motivation and Human Potential 

Investigate what motivates human behaviour and learn how motivation influences achievement, well-being, and personal growth.  

Unit 3: Personality and Individual Differences 

Examine major personality theories and explore why people differ in their thoughts, behaviours, and characteristics.  

Unit 4: Stress, Fear, Anxiety, and Resilience 

Learn how people respond to stress and adversity while exploring healthy coping strategies and resilience.  

Unit 5: Mental Health and Psychological Disorders 

Develop an understanding of mental health, psychological disorders, and contemporary approaches to treatment and support.  

Unit 6: Social Psychology and Human Relationships 

Explore how family, peers, culture, and social groups influence behaviour, identity, relationships, and decision-making.

Students complete a variety of quizzes, assignments, unit tests, a culminating project, and a supervised final exam designed to demonstrate their understanding of key psychological concepts and their application to real-life situations.
