Important Notice:

Any test supervisor who is not a current member of the BC Teacher Regulation Board must be approved by the principal of Navigate-NIDES or a designate. These approvals are only granted in exceptional circumstances such as geographical isolation or conditions within a student’s Individual Education Plan.

Responsibilities of a Test Supervisor:

Maintain the integrity and security of the Navigate-NIDES testing process by keeping tests and passwords secure
Supervise the student throughout the test writing process to ensure there is no academic dishonesty
Ensure that the student does not access any outside resources (cell phones, books, websites, chat lines…) except those called for on the test.
In the case that there is evidence or the possibility of academic dishonesty occurring, the test supervisor will inform Navigate-NIDES at navigateexams@sd71.bc.ca
For online tests, the test supervisor will enter in the password for the student to begin the test and visually confirm that the test has been submitted for marking before the student leaves.
For paper tests the test supervisor will promptly scan or fax the completed test back to Navigate-NIDES and securely destroy the test once Navigate-NIDES has confirmed that they have received the test.
