View the complete Learning Outcomes for this course: Physical Education 11 & 12 Integrated Resource Package (Grade 12 Outcomes begin on page 28) It is recommended that students complete: PE 11
PE 12 is a 20 week course that is designed to be completed within 25 weeks.
Students are expected to complete and submit the following in a timely fashion:
- 5 activity reports
- 5 written assignments
The course is grouped into five 4-week periods of time. Students are required to fully document their physical activity for each reporting period and submit an activity report that accounts for 20 hours of activity for each 4 week period for a total of 100 hours over the course of 20 weeks. Exercises/activity must be current or recent – within two weeks of the end of the reporting period – to count. Each activity must be verified by an adult and with digital evidence (a digital photograph or video).
Acceptable Activities
Acceptable activities include those that are typically done as part of a regular PE class. Students may choose a wide variety of activities to meet the required 100 hours of physical activity. These recreation-based activities will help students develop skills and increase their interest in life-long recreational activities. Hopefully, the activities students choose will become a part of their day to day activities and will continue once the course expectations are complete. Domestic chores, work and Wii Fit don’t count as acceptable activities (i.e. chopping wood, walking to the mall, shopping, Wii boxing, Wii tennis etc.).
If students complete a recommended certification course (such as first aid, coaching, or officiating) during this course, they may use these hours toward the required 100 hours of activity. A certificate of completion must be submitted to earn the hours.
